Clinical Features
<5y: If RR >50bpm, likely bacteria infection
Management
Bacteria infection:
If wheeze: salbutamol 1-2mg tds (effective in 1-2h)
Cough:
NOTE: Children should not be given cough medicines. Not proven to be effective and can cause drowsiness, may cause SIDS

- Amoxicillin 15mg/kg/dose (max 500mg), tds, 5 day course
- Augmentin 22.5+3.2mg/kg/dose (max 500+125), tds, 7 day course
If wheeze: salbutamol 1-2mg tds (effective in 1-2h)
Cough:
- Non pharm only: steam, lemon, honey
NOTE: Children should not be given cough medicines. Not proven to be effective and can cause drowsiness, may cause SIDS
